Eight members of Social friends set out on the No. 500 bus from various pick up points along the A41 to spend a day in Oxford. The weather was warm and sunny and the countryside views from the top deck of the bus were beautiful.
Upon arriving in Oxford the first famous sight to be seen was the Shark in the Roof in Headington High Street before the group reached the pedestrianised Cornmarket Street. Then it was on to Magdalen Street to catch the No. 6 bus for the Trout Inn.

The Trout Inn was a beautiful pub and much bigger than expected. This inn was the setting for two Inspector Morse episodes (Last Bus to Woodstock and The Wolvercote Tongue) and featured in many others of the programmes. The food was also fantastic.
The journey home did not go quite as planned with the group getting split up. This was due to the bus arriving early. Everyone arrived home safely though after a great day out.
