Folkstone has a lot to offer and the local costal locations are definitely worth visiting plus the miniature steam railway is a must
This weekend is run by John & Deb O'Malley of Holiday Rock. A small group of social friends went on this weekend and had a fantastic time. Those who didn’t book missed a great weekend of music and dancing. Keep an eye out for the next one. There were 6 members for this months meal. If was very enjoyable, lots of chat & laughter, a very good night for all. Maybe see you at the next one in September
Friday saw another great Boogie Nights at the Hemel Football Club attracting twenty- three of our members. It didn't take long before the dancefloor was buzzing with seventies and eighties sounds rolling off DJ Alex decks. A big thank you from Social Friends to Stan Brewster for organising Boogie Nights
Thanks to all the members who attended this festival. What a wonderful few hours we all had, a definite for next year Jennie
Thanks all for coming to this annual BBQ Picnic, a great turnout of 25 members. The weather just about held out for us. A new face, who is a friend of Anna and lives on Gozo Malta, came too so we were almost European
Dave & Rebecca A lovely evening was spent at The Three Horseshoes, Winkwell - a lovely canal side pub which we hadn't visited for several years. Summer put in a welcome appearance and there was a lot of reminiscing and a lot of laughter
Dave & Barbara We had another enjoyable Sunday lunch at Martin's Pond, Potten End. Fourteen members attended and some of us even worked up an appetite by doing the walk earlier in the day Dave & Barbara
A big thank you to the 20 members who came along for our walk. We started at Martins Pond, Potten End making our way to the Alford Arms for short history lesson on this 500 year old public house. We continued up Spooky Lane and Devil’s Bridge, this location has been used in several films. We continued on past the Monastery then to the church at Great Gaddesden, which dates back to Medieval times. Finally we headed back to Potten End. It was a lovely day for a walk with plenty of wild flowers to see and plenty of history. Afterwards we visited the Hemel Hempstead Garden Centre for a well earned cup of tea and a piece of cake Bill & Joanne
A good number of members attended but unfortunately, due to the weather, we only stayed a couple of hours. As the rain got heavier we decided to leave and go for Sunday lunch instead Lisa & Des
